If you or your loved ones have a pacemaker, defibrillator, or other implants that might respond to magnets and radios, don't have an iPhone 12 too close to it. Apple updated its support document to warn users of the new Apple flagship and other MagSafe accessories as they might interfere with implants.

It's essential to keep them at least six inches or 15 centimetres away in regular use, or a foot or 30 centimetres away if you're charging the iPhone wirelessly. Apple maintains that the extra magnets don't increase the risk compared to past iPhone models. But the company is still reminding users to be careful. Engadget mentions a test where an iPhone 12 kicked a defibrillator implant into a suspended state when the phone got near it.

If you keep the iPhone in your jean or pants pockets, it shouldn't be a problem. You can use it as you usual, but don't tuck it into your coat or shirt pocket or on your chest when lounging on a couch. If you are still worried, Apple urges you to speak to your physician or the company as well to address any concerns.
