If you were impressed with the performance of the Apple MacBooks with the original M1, the company wants you to know that'll blow that chipset out of the park. There are two new M1 chips out of Apple's stable, the M1 Pro and M1 Max.

The M1 Pro will be 70% faster than the original M1 chipset, with a GPU that's 2x faster, 32GB of unified memory, and 200GB/s memory bandwidth. The M1 Max gets a higher unified memory (up to 64GB).

This setup is possible with the new MacBook Pro (Apple)Both chipsets support up to 10 CPU cores and up to 16 cores of GPU for the Pro and 32 cores for the Max. You can read more about the chips' performance and what that means for the new MacBook Pros here.

These new chips will power the new MacBook Pros that bring both new tech and resurrects old features that got taken away. Apple's managed to increase screen sizes without expanding the footprint with thinner bezels and a notch. Yes, the MacBook Pro gets a notch for its camera, so the 16-inch model gets a 16.2-inch display, and the 14-inch gets a 14.2-inch active area.

Apple also brings its Liquid Retina XDR display to the MacBook Pro, bringing the mini-LED tech used in the iPad Pro. The laptops also get 120Hz ProMotion support.

There's now a new 1080p camera in the notch, which Apple says offers double the performance in low light. The audio system has also been revamped with larger tweeters and woofers.

As we've heard in the rumours, Apple brings MagSafe back to its MacBook line. The MacBook Pro also adds more ports. It brings back the SDXC card slot, HDMI port, improves the headphone jack, and has Thunderbolt. If you weren't a Touch Bar fan, you'd be happy to hear Apple brought back the physical keys.

In Canada, the 14-inch MacBook Pro starts at $2,499, while the 16-inch starts at $3,139. You can pre-order both now, with shipping starting on October 26.
