LG Electronucs typically uses CES to showcase its display technology in unusual, standout ways. And the upcoming trade show is no different. LG Display, its sister company, has a couple of concepts to show.
The first is the Virtual Ride stationary bike. It features three vertical 55-inch OLED displays that form one continuous screen in front and above the rider. The top panel has a 500R curvature radius, which LG Display claims is the most extreme curve among large screens to date.
The second concept is the Media Chair, which features a recliner with a 55-inch OLED TV attached to it. It has a 1,500R curvature, which LG Display says is the best for this use case. It also includes its Cinematic Sound OLED technology, which lets it create sound without using external speakers. The Media Chair's display can swivel between portrait and landscape orientations with a touch of a button.
We can't say if LG Display will release either concept. Many of these types don't go past the concept stage, but the company has brought some of its past wild ideas into production. So, we aren't dismissing the possibility.
