Ever miss the days of seeing your Instagram feed in chronological order? You might finally get your wish. Instagram's head Adam Mosseri claims the company is actively working on bringing the chronological feed option back into the app. Mosseri testified before the US Congress today, which focused on the app's impact on children. A topic that keeps resurfacing is how addictive it could be for users. One aspect that makes it that way is the algorithm, which surfaces what you want to see (or what it thinks you want to see).

Mosseri said that Instagram has been "actively working on" bringing a chronological option "for months," and it hopes to launch the feature sometime "in the first quarter of next year." If you used Instagram before 2016, you have seen your feed in chronological order. It was that year when the company switched to the algorithmic option.
