Another one of the new features Google plans to roll out for Android is essential for those who drive in the dark. Google is bringing dark mode to Google Maps, which it has started testing in late 2020. But now, the company plans a broader release of the feature "soon."

It's simple to enable the new Dark Theme. Here's what you need to do:

  1. Make sure you have the latest version of Google Maps.
  2. Open the app and head to Settings. Tap your profile icon in Maps' search bar and then scroll down to Settings.
  3. Select Theme.
  4. And then, you can turn on the dark mode by selecting Always in Dark Theme.
  5. If you want to switch back, you can just select Always in Light Theme.

Some of the other new features we've written about include Schedule Send for Android Messages, Google Assistant locked screen support, new Android TalkBack capabilitiesAndroid Auto updates, and Password Checkup.
