One of the simpler yet useful updates Google recently introduced to Android will allow you to use your phone even when it's locked. To use Google Assistant when your device is locked, you'll need to turn on Lock Screen Personal Results in your Google Assistant settings page.

When you do this, the Google Assistant cards should make information more easily viewable, allowing you to read what's on the screen even when you aren't close to your handset. It should also let you do things like sending text messages, setting alarms, or opening your streaming music app of choice.

Some of the other new features we've written about include Schedule Send for Android Messages, Password Checkup, new Android TalkBack features, Android Auto updates, and broader rollout of dark mode for Google Maps.
