Apple has finally updated its iMac with an eye-catching new look that's a throwback to the original iMac's classic, colourful design. According to the company, this new iMac was built from the ground up for the M1 chip.
It has a slimmer 24-inch 4.5K display with thinner borders around the edges, except for a still prominent chin. The rear of the iMac is now flat, reducing its volume by over 50 percent. It also comes in seven different colours.
There are also new keyboard, mouse, and trackpad options in colours that match the new all-in-one. Apple also integrates a Touch ID button on the keyboard for the first time.
The iMac's camera, mic, and speaker get an upgrade, which is particularly essential for the age of video calls. Its camera now has a 1080p resolution with a larger sensor.

At 11.5mm thin, Apple says this iMac is still quiet and cool, attributing that to the M1 chip. There are two small fans integrated into it instead of a "bulky thermal system."
Apple also arms the iMac with a new magnetic power cable, which reminds us of the old MagSafe cable. But now, ethernet is accessible through the power brick, which then links up to this new cable.
The Apple iMac has a starting price of $1,599, but some of the colours are only available on the more expensive model. It will be coming in the second half of May, but you can order starting April 30.
