A new update rolling out to Gmail will give you the option to save emailed pictures to your Google Photos automatically. Now, you won't need to download the files before manually backing them up on the service. The "Save to Photos" option will join the existing "Add to Drive" button that appears when you view an email attachment on your browser. This feature will only work for JPEG attachments. Personal Gmail account users will get this function as well as users of Google Workspace, G Suite Basic, and G Suite Business. This update does arrive as Google Photos will offering free unlimited storage for uploaded pictures starting June 1.
