Facebook has been testing a live chat feature that helps users locked out of their accounts communicate with the company. Guy Rosen, Meta's chief information security officer. said during a recent press call that it has seen "positive results" from the experiment. Canada was part of the initial rollout of the experience in December 2021. Now, Meta is looking to bring this feature to more than 30 countries as part of the expanded experiment.
Facebook users get locked out of their account for different reasons, including unusual activity or violating Facebook's rules about posting content not allowed on the platform. It shows Meta's attempt at improving Facebook's customer service, which the company has been critized for because users have complained about the difficulty of getting in touch with someone when they get locked out.
Of course, this feature can run into issues like hackers and scammers trying to get into accounts they took over. Rosen recommends users update your contact information, like email and phone numbers, to help you recover your account.
