If you're waiting to get your hands on the more budget-friendly Pixel 6a, Google has finally opened pre-orders for the device. It costs $599 in Canada and comes in Sage, Chalk, and Charcoal. You can pre-order through Google's site and get a free pair of Pixel Buds A-Series with your order.

The Google Pixel 6a packs in the same Tensor chip powering the Pixel 6. It's similar to how the iPhone SE borrows some specs from the more expensive options. It sports a similar two-tone colour with a distinctive camera bar as the Pixel 6. It has a 6.1-inch OLED 1080p display locked at 60Hz, and an older Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protects the screen. It has an in-screen fingerprint reader but doesn't get wireless charging.

Cameras resemble the Pixel 5a with a 12-megapixel wide and ultra-wide pairing. But it gets the same 8-megapixel selfie camera as the Pixel 6. And with the Tensor chip, you get access to features like Real Tone, Face Unblur, Night Sight, and Magic Eraser.

The Pixel 6a ships with Android 12 and Material You colour customization and gets 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. As a slightly smaller phone, this handset has a smaller 4,410mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support. Unfortunately, you don't get the adapter in the box.
