Google is rolling back its decision to remove the app permissions section in the Play Store. The feature shows what permissions an app uses. The company initially opted to replace that with its Data Safety section, similar to Apple's privacy labels. This section is where developers have to declare what they do with users' data and provide info on things like whether users can ask for their data to be deleted or if they're encrypted.

But as some users pointed out, the information you see in the Data Safety section is self-declared, while those in the app permissions section came from Google. By taking the latter out, there's no way to compare the two parts and get a better, quick picture of what an app can access.

Thankfully, Google has decided to listen to users and plans to roll it back. You should be seeing it on the Play Store soon.
