Twitter has begun testing its most requested feature. The company announced that it started internally testing an Edit Tweet option. It plans to roll this out to Twitter Blue subscribers in Canada and three other markets (Australia, New Zealand, and the US) starting as early as late September 2022.
Twitter gives you up to 30 minutes to edit a tweet "a few times" after you've hit Tweet. The edited tweets will appear with an icon, timestamp, and label that clearly states the original tweet has been modified. When you tap the label, it'll show the tweet's edit history. As Twitter says in its blog post, this helps "protect the integrity of the conversation and create a publicly accessible record of what was said." While not all users will get the option to edit tweets, everyone will see edited tweets soon.
