One of the new devices L’Oréal had to show off at CES 2023 is designed to help those with limited mobility apply makeup. L’Oréal's Lancôme brand will pilot the HAPTA system this year, starting with this lipstick applicator. The brand has plans to offer more makeup applications in the future. HAPTA is based on the tech from Alphabet-owned Verily that levels utensils and keeps them stable to help those with limited hand and arm mobility eat on their own.

The system offers smart motion controls and customizable attachments for precise application. It also has 360 degrees of rotation and 180 degrees of flexion. L’Oréal says the attachments are connected magnetically, and you can click them into place. HAPTA also allows for "increased ease of use for difficult-to-open packaging." You can get an hour of use out of a single charge, which should equal 10 or more applications. Charging time takes around three hours.
