Samsung Display's newest prototype display shows off more than a folded screen. The Flex Hybrid OLED integrates a sliding component this time. The screen starts at a compact 4.2-inch wide screen that you can fold out into a 10.5-inch 4:3 display. If you need something bigger, it can slide out on the right side to get a 12.4-inch screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio.
This implementation can come in handy for watching content or working on the go. It looks like the extra two inches are hidden under the right side of the device. We have high expectations with Samsung bringing its OLED display technology into the Flex Hybrid OLED.
Samsung Display will bring the Flex Hybrid OLED alongside the Flex Slidable Solo and Flex Slidable Duet OLED. The former has a 14-inch OLED panel that opens on one side for a wider 17.3-inch display, while the latter extends from two sides. Both display technologies were shown off at Intel's Innovation 2022 event, but they haven't made a public debut yet.
