Paramount+ in Canada and The Shine Network Institute (TSNI) have launched the Indigenous Producers Budgeting Intensive, an online course and new resource to support Indigenous women in film, television and media. The course, which focuses on budgeting for film, is available on TSNI’s @Learnatshine platform and will start on National Indigenous Peoples Day – Friday, June 21, 2024.
The course consists of 10 x one-hour modules that offer hands-on learning and Indigenous-framed tutorials to help students produce their first feature film. It also features candid conversations with Indigenous female producers who share their insights and experiences in the industry.
This initiative is part of Paramount+ in Canada’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The company has also partnered with the Black Screen Office, BIPOC TV & Film, and the National Screen Institute for other programs that support diverse creators. These programs align with Paramount Global’s Content for Change initiative, which aims to counteract narratives that enable bias, stereotypes and hate through the power of content, the creative supply chain, and the culture.
