Google quietly rolled out a file creation limit on Drive the past few weeks, which imposed a five million file creation limit on its accounts. It drew flak from users over the limit, but also how there wasn't a warning issued about the cap. Now, Google is rolling back the changes, which it made to "preserve stability and optimize performance" and prevent Drive misuse.
The tech giant argued it only ever impacted a small number of users but said it is looking for alternative ways to guarantee stable performance for all users.
