WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that lets you send short video messages, similar to the voice messages you can already use. With video messages, you can record and send up to 60 seconds of video with just a tap. The videos will play automatically on mute when someone opens your chat. Unlike voice messages, which can be any length, video messages are meant to be quick and easy.
To send one, tap the voice message icon and switch it to video mode. Video messages are different from regular videos you can send on WhatsApp. They are faster to record and send. And they don’t take up space on your phone’s camera roll. We assume they are also exclusive to WhatsApp so they won’t appear elsewhere.
WhatsApp has been rolling out the video message feature on iOS and Android since last month, and it will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.
