Fallout 4 fans have been eagerly waiting for the next-gen upgrade that was announced last year. The upgrade will make the game run natively on Xbox Series X and S, Windows, and PlayStation 5, and will be free for existing owners and Game Pass subscribers. However, the release date of the upgrade is still unknown, and it seems that it may be delayed due to another Bethesda project.

And that project is Starfield, the highly anticipated sci-fi RPG set to launch in November. According to Pete Hines, Bethesda’s head of marketing, Starfield is currently the studio's primary focus, and other projects like the Fallout 4 next-gen upgrade will have to wait until Starfield is out.

While this may disappoint some Fallout 4 players who were hoping to enjoy the game with enhanced graphics and performance, it also shows that Bethesda is putting a lot of effort and resources into Starfield, which could be a good sign for its quality and polish. Hopefully, we will hear more about the Fallout 4 next-gen upgrade after Starfield’s release and see what improvements it will bring to the post-apocalyptic wasteland.
