Google's Pixel Watch 2 leaks are getting hotter. The company hasn't officially announced a sequel to its first smartwatch, but a device codenamed Eos appeared in an official Android developer resource, as 9to5Google reported. This confirms some high-level details about the wearable's hardware and software from Google itself, making it the most reliable source of information about the Pixel Watch 2 so far.

The Google Play Console device catalogue, an official resource for Android developers to check device compatibility, listed the Pixel Watch 2 under its codename, Eos, today. The listing doesn't reveal any major surprises. But it mostly confirms what we already knew from previous leaks.

The Pixel Watch 2 will run on Wear OS 4 based on Android 13, have 2GB of RAM, and use a "Qualcomm SW5100" chipset — probably the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1. The listing also suggests that the Pixel Watch 2's screen will be identical to the first generation's size and resolution (384x384 pixels at 320 pixels per inch). However, 9to5Google notes that Samsung might supply the display, which should improve its quality over the original's BOE-made panel.

We expect the Pixel Watch 2 to debut at a Google event with the Pixel 8 series this fall. This new development doesn't confirm that, but it adds more evidence.
