Google Chrome on iOS is testing a new feature that allows you to place the address bar at the bottom of the screen. This is a convenient option that brings the address bar within your thumb’s reach. (It’s worth noting that Apple introduced a similar feature for Safari with iOS 15 two years ago.) This new Chrome feature was spotted using the TestFlight version of the app.
There are two methods to change the address bar’s location. The simplest one is to tap and hold the bar to bring up an option to move it. Alternatively, you can adjust the bar’s position from Chrome’s settings. But this option might not be available for all TestFlight users yet.
It's unclear when Google plans to bring this feature to all Chrome users on iOS and, perhaps, even Android. Google experimented with this feature on Android before. In 2017, they tested a way to put the URL bar at the bottom of Chrome for Android, but they later removed it.
