Mark Mylod is bringing his directorial prowess to another HBO drama series poised to follow in Succession's footsteps, The Last Of UsMylod is fresh off his triumphant win at the 2023 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Directing for Succession. He is part of a stellar lineup of four new directors joining the post-apocalyptic zombie drama for its highly anticipated Season 2. Other notable names are Loki's Kate Herron, Nina Lopez-Corrado (Perry Mason), and Stephen Williams (Watchmen).

These directors will collaborate with the returning talents of Peter Hoar, Emmy-nominated for Season 1's Episode 3, and The Last Of Us co-creators, executive producers, and showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. Both will resume directing duties.

Whether any of the seven directors will helm multiple episodes remains unanswered. But it would be reminiscent of the format seen in Season 1, which comprised nine episodes directed by seven directors.

Herron is known for her executive producer and director roles on Disney+'s Loki. She has also directed episodes of Netflix's Sex Education, showcasing her versatility and creative vision.

Williams was recognized for his directing Emmy nomination for HBO’s Watchmen and his role as a producer in the show's Outstanding Limited Series win. Williams has an impressive directing resume, featuring works on HBO's Westworld, Showtime's Ray Donovan, and ABC's Lost.

Lopez-Corrado has multiple directorial contributions, including The Nevers and ABC’s A Million Little Things, where she served as a producing director.

As Season 2 of The Last Of Us gears up for production in Vancouver next month, the addition of Mylod and Herron to the directorial team has heightened anticipation.

Following the first season's success, which earned 24 Emmy nominations and secured eight trophies, fans are eager to witness the creative synergy and storytelling brilliance that this talented ensemble of directors will bring to the acclaimed series.
