Jackery has created a rooftop tent that can also power your car and appliances with solar energy. The tent is currently a concept on display at CES, but Jackery plans to launch it by the end of 2024.

The tent has retractable solar panels that produce up to 1000W when the car is parked and the tent is open. Its solar panels can generate up to 4.96kWh per day in the western US, or 4kWh in the east, according to Jackery’s estimates.

The solar panel feeds a separate 1.26kWh E1000 Plus power station, which can output 2000W of AC power. The power station can potentially run a portable air conditioner, a car fridge, or an electric cooker for an hour or more, depending on the battery capacity. You can charge the power station from the car or a wall jack.

We don't know yet who Jackery plans to partner with on tent production. But it fitted the concept with a memory foam mattress, dimmable lighting with colour control, insulation, and a waterproof fabric with blackout windows. Jackery plans to include an "onboard charging module" in the production model.
