Google was bound to bring its Gemini artificial intelligence model to products like the Nest and Home platform. The fall update brings some features to these segments. With a Nest camera, you can look through the camera history using natural language queries. For example, you can ask, "Did someone deliver a package today?" This feature is limited to Nest Aware Plus subscribers, but it might not come to all paid users, for now.
Aside from that, you can task Gemini to help you simplify routine creation on Google Home. The new Help Me Create tool can help you automate tasks at home. You can describe what you want to happen, and Gemini will set it up for you. Android Police's example states: "Turn on the Christmas lights outside, play my Holiday tunes playlist on the living room Nest speaker, and turn on the Christmas tree lights every night at sunset."
The update also brings a new Google Home extension to the Gemini app. You can use Gemini to manage your lights, thermostats, and other smart home devices.
