ChatGPT's Advanced Voice Mode might soon be able to see what your cameras see. The mode, which allows you to converse with the chatbot in real time, might get its "live camera" feature shortly. It was spotted in the ChatGPT v1.2024.317 beta build code by Android Authority.

The feature allows the artificial intelligence chatbot to determine what you're looking at by simply pointing your camera at the object/subject in question. It was a supposed hit with alpha testers. But it didn't make its way into the hands of beta testers when OpenAI rolled out Advanced Voice Mode to them for testing.

If OpenAI releases the live camera feature soon, it would give them an edge over Google's and Meta's offerings. Advanced Voice Mode has started to make its way to paid ChatGPT Plus accounts on the desktop. It was initially only available on mobile.
