Ross Young, chief executive officer of Display Supply Chain Consultants, predicts that Apple may extend QD technology to its Pro Display XDR 2. While QD is a significant step forward, tandem OLED remains the pinnacle of display technology. Rumours suggest that Apple may introduce OLED MacBook Pro models in the coming years.
Despite its impressive capabilities, the current Pro Display XDR has faced criticism for its high price tag and lack of recent hardware upgrades. The increasing availability of affordable OLED monitors has further highlighted the Pro Display XDR's premium pricing. Apple may need to consider price reductions or additional features for its future displays to remain competitive.
