The world of professional hairstyling just got a major upgrade. At New York Fashion Week, Dyson unveiled the Supersonic r, a high-tech hairdryer reimagined specifically for the needs of stylists. Ditch the arm fatigue and dull hair—this sleek, redesigned tool promises faster drying times, smarter features, and ultimate comfort.

Dyson engineers listened to the concerns of stylists to build the Supersonic r. It tackles common issues like weight, reach, and heat damage. The Supersonic r's innovative R-shaped design is 20% lighter and 30% smaller. At 325g, it's easy to wield all day long without strain. Even button placement is optimized, with the cold shot trigger conveniently hidden under the curve.

But don't underestimate the Supersonic r's size. Despite its smaller footprint, it delivers the same powerful performance as its predecessor. Dyson's streamlined heating technology ensures even heat distribution, eliminating cold spots and protecting hair health. Plus, intelligent heat control with a glass bead thermistor monitors temperature 20 times a second, preventing damage and preserving natural shine.

The Dyson Supersonic r's attachments now boast Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) sensors, allowing them to "communicate" with the dryer. Each attachment automatically adjusts the motor and heater for optimal airflow and temperature based on its specific function. No more fiddling with settings—the dryer adapts to your needs intuitively.

Gone are the days of time-consuming setups. The Supersonic r remembers your last used settings on each attachment, saving precious seconds before every client. Additionally, it allows settings customization for different hair types and desired styles, empowering you to achieve perfect results effortlessly.

The Dyson Supersonic r is available in select markets starting March 2024 for US$569.99 (around CA$771).
