Fujifilm just dropped the newest addition to the instax family, the Mini 99. This camera isn't just another pretty face (although, let's be honest, the matte black finish is pretty darn sleek). It comes packed with features designed to elevate your instant photography game, giving you more control than you've had with past instax cameras.
Remember those days of waiting to see how your photo turned out? With the instax Mini 99, you can get creative before you even click the shutter. The built-in Color Effect Dial lets you choose from six unique effects: Faded Green, Warm Tone, Light Blue, Soft Magenta, Sepia, and Light Leak. These effects are applied directly to the film, giving your instant prints a whole new dimension.
Now, if you're worried about lighting, the instax Mini 99 has you covered, too. With five brightness levels, you can control the exact mood you want to create in your photos. Need to capture the vibrancy of a summer day? No problem. Craving a moodier aesthetic? Simply adjust the dial.
You can take your creativity further with the different shooting modes. Freeze that epic action shot with Sports Mode, create dreamlike double exposures, shoot better in low light with Indoor Mode, or use Bulb Mode to create a brightened effect on the print. And if you want to soften the edges of your photos, there's also a Vignette Switch on the camera.
You don't have to worry about those awkward group selfies, either. A built-in self-timer ensures everyone gets in the frame. But we are missing the selfie mirror, though.
No matter the lighting situation, you're in control, too. Choose from automatic flash, fill-in flash for darker environments, or turn it off completely. Plus, the convenient lens dial lets you switch between Landscape, Portrait, and Macro modes for perfectly focused shots every time.
Shaky hands? No worries! The included base grip not only provides extra stability but also doubles as a tripod mount (tripod sold separately) for even more creative options.
The INSTAX MINI 99 is expected to hit stores in mid-April 2024 for a suggested retail price of $249.
