Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Ring, its sleekest wearable yet, at its recent Galaxy Unpacked event. This long-awaited addition to the Galaxy ecosystem boasts cutting-edge health tracking features and aims to be a game-changer in the wearable tech market.

Smart rings, known for their discreet design, have remained a niche product. Samsung, the industry giant, is poised to change that with the Galaxy Ring. This stylish ring, available in Black, Silver, and Gold, is crafted from durable grade 5 titanium and comes in a range of sizes (5-13) to ensure a perfect fit.

The Galaxy Ring is built to withstand your active lifestyle. It's waterproof (IP68 rated) and can be worn during swims. Despite its functionality, the ring is incredibly thin and lightweight, weighing only 2.3 grams for the smallest size (and 3 grams for the largest). Samsung provides a free sizing kit to ensure you get the perfect fit, crucial for 24/7 wear and accurate sleep tracking.

The Galaxy Ring pairs seamlessly with any Android phone running Android 11 or later via Bluetooth LE 5.4. It even boasts unique gesture controls, allowing you to take photos or dismiss alarms with a simple pinch. Plus, it integrates with Samsung Find My Mobile, helping you locate your misplaced ring with its built-in LED lights. It's important to note that some features might be exclusive to Samsung devices.

The Galaxy Ring packs a powerful punch when it comes to health monitoring. It tracks your heart rate, skin temperature, and sleep with exceptional detail. The sleep tracking features are particularly impressive, offering an active sleep score, snoring analysis, and insights into movement, sleep latency, heart rate, and respiratory rate during sleep.

For fitness enthusiasts, the Galaxy Ring automatically detects workouts and provides live heart rate monitoring and alerts. It also calculates an energy score based on your activity and sleep data, offering a holistic view of your well-being with a daily score out of 100.

The Galaxy Ring boasts an impressive battery life, lasting up to 6 or 7 days on a single charge depending on the size. When it's time to recharge, the included charging case provides up to 20 full charges for the smaller ring sizes.

The Samsung Galaxy Ring is available for pre-order now, priced at $399 USD (around $549 CAD), with sales starting on July 24 in markets where it's available. Canada isn't one of the markets where it'll be available at launch. We aren't sure if it will come to the country. But we'll keep you posted for updates.
