Samsung Galaxy Ring opens up! Works with most Android phones

Early reports suggested the Galaxy Ring would be exclusive to Samsung phones. Thankfully, that's not true! The ring connects to any Android phone running Android 11 or later via the Galaxy Wearable app.

This means you don't need a Samsung phone to enjoy core health features like heart rate monitoring, step counting, sleep tracking, basic wellness tips, and automatic workout detection. Plus, there are no subscription fees to access your health data.

This strategy is similar to Samsung's approach to the Galaxy Watch series.

Limiting features incentivize you to upgrade to a Samsung phone to experience the Galaxy Ring at its full potential. And it also allows Samsung to showcase its wearables to a broader audience, potentially converting them into future Galaxy phone buyers.

The Samsung Galaxy Ring is available for pre-order now, priced at $399 USD (around $549 CAD), with sales starting on July 24 in markets where it's available. Canada isn't one of the markets where it'll be available at launch. We aren't sure if it will come to the country. But we'll keep you posted for updates.
