Google has unveiled its Pixel Watch 3, a significant upgrade from its predecessors. Offering two sizes (41mm and 45mm) with smaller bezels, UWB support, and a larger battery in the 45mm model, the new watch addresses many of the shortcomings of its earlier iterations.
Building upon the foundation of the Pixel Watch 2, the Pixel Watch 3 introduces a brighter (2,000 nits), more power-efficient display with a smoother 60Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it boasts a range of health-focused features, including a daily "Morning Brief" summarizing key health metrics and a pulse detection feature that can automatically alert emergency services of a medical emergency.
The watch's integration with the Google ecosystem has also been enhanced, allowing seamless control of devices like Google Nest and Google TV. It can even be paired with a Google Pixel phone to frame and take photos remotely.
With its larger battery, improved display, and expanded features, the Pixel Watch 3 is a compelling option for those seeking a versatile and capable smartwatch.
The Pixel Watch 3 saw a modest price increase in Canada compared to the Pixel 9 series. While the 41mm Wi-Fi model remains at $479.99, the LTE version has increased by $50 to $599.99. The larger 45mm Pixel Watch 3 starts at $549.99 for Wi-Fi and $669.99 for LTE. The new watch will be available starting September 10. It comes with six months of Fitbit Premium for free.
