YouTube is rolling out its new Communities feature, designed to foster closer connections between creators and viewers. Similar to Discord, Communities provides dedicated spaces on channels for conversations and shared posts.

Initially unveiled in September, the feature allows channel owners and viewers to create and participate in discussions, encouraging creator-to-fan and fan-to-fan interaction. Creators can now enable Communities by tapping “Go to Community” on their channel page, which is only available on mobile for now. They retain moderation control, allowing them to manage posts and remove disruptive users.

To differentiate the new feature, YouTube will rename its existing Community tab to Posts, which will continue to be used for updates and announcements.
