US Apple Watch sales estimated at 2.8 million units

While Apple hasn't released any official Apple Watch sales figures, Slice Intelligence, a digital commerce research firm that tracks email receipts, estimates Apple Watch sales at 2.79 million in the US. Apple Watch was released almost two months ago, although some editions have been slower to ship to customer, supplies are starting meet demand.  Watch is expected to be sold in Retail Stores by the end of June.

As expected, the more afforfable Apple Watch Sport models were the most popular models sold.

The report, which surveyed 2 million users, also shows that 17 per cent of Apple Watch buyers spend on the extra Watch Band accessories. One of the biggest features of the Watch is that anyone can change the strap without a tool. This opens up customization and personalization options via Apple's bands or third party bands.

eBay revises iOS app to work with Apple Watch

While official Apple Watch sales numbers have not been released, smart businesses are quickly tweaking their iOS apps to work with Apple's wearable and while native Apple Watch apps are a few months away (watchOS was just released this week), there are benefits to enabling Watch interaction for popular existing apps.

eBay's app update offers quick access to activity, items you're watching as well as up to the minute status of things you're buying or selling. You can't use the Watch to search for items, place a bid or contact sellers since the interface and screen size isn't optimized for this but being able to get an update of your current status at a glance on the Watch may prove convenient to serious eBay users. Check it out here.
