Google cracks down on Pirate Bay by taking out apps from Google Play

Google seems to be taking a proactive stance against Pirate Bay as they have taken down apps related to the site from the Google Play Store—even without being prompted by a DMCA takedown notice. The apps include The Pirate Bay Proxy, The Pirate Bay Premium, The Pirate Bay Mirror, and Pirate App. The company has sent notice to proprietors of the apps saying they violated intellectual provisions of Google Play’s terms of service.

‘Monument Valley’ releases first expansion pack on Google Play

Puzzle game Monument Valley has just released its first expansion for Android. Forgotten Shores has been available on Amazon Appstore since last week and now finally makes its way to Google Play Store. It adds eight new levels starting with The Chasm. Forgotten Shores offers players the option to start the game with the original ten levels or play the new ones. You can purchase the expansion within the app for US$1.99.

Google Play Store gets Material Design revamp

Google seems to be going full steam ahead with its redesign. The tech company has just rolled out version 5.0.31 of its Google Play Store to bring Material Design to it. You see a flatter Play Store icon and more bold colors and animation with its new look. There is new animations for the slide-in panel and a change in how “What’s New” section is displayed. The Play Store also feels quicker to load and navigate through. The new look is rolling out bit by bit so just be patient and wait for it to come to you.

Google plans to show price range of in-app purchases in Play Store

Suffering from bill shock because of the in-app purchases you make in games? Well, Google is coming up with the solution for you. They will be adding the price range for in-app purchases on Play Store by the end of the month. This means you’ll get to see what you have going up against you before you even download a game or any other “freemium” app.
