Lenovo’s first fitness tracker makes its debut

Without much fanfare or hype, the first Lenovo fitness tracker makes its way out on the market. The Lenovo Smartband SW-B100 was introduced through a new product page on the company’s site but no official announcement from Lenovo just yet. There isn’t much separating it from its competitors though. It tracks the calories you burned, the steps you’ve taken, heart rate, and sleeping habits. It will even show you notifications about text messages and calls. We will let you know if we get word about price and availability.

Lenovo files patent for a Google Glass-like wearable concept

Lenovo looks like it wants to enter the wearable technology market with a new US patent they applied for. They are trying to patent a headset design that features dual screens, voice recognition, and touch-based navigation. It has a bone-conducting microphone about your nose bridge to make it easier to catch your voice. We’re not sure what Lenovo will do with this patent but it gives us an idea of what we might get in the future.

Lenovo rumoured to release Windows Phone device this year

Lenovo hasn’t entered the Windows Phone market yet but recent reports claim they plan to release a Windows Phone device this year. Ubergizmo cites WP7Forum.ru reports that Lenovo will break into the Windows mobile market following the Windows Phone 8.1 announcement in April.

The device will reportedly cost around $420 and will be a mid-range device with features such as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 or 600 processor with a 4.5-inch or 5-inch display. Of course, you have to take these rumours with a grain of salt. But we will keep you posted on any updates.
