Microsoft will bring Edge to Linux in October

Source: Microsoft

Microsoft is trying to appeal to developers and more technical users by bringing Edge to Linux next month. However, the Chromium-powered browser will only be available as a developer preview first. And those who want to get it will need to go through the Edge Insider website or on the Linux package manager.

Edge on Linux will offer the same features available on the browser engine that powers Google Chrome. Microsoft added more privacy features, though, to allow you more control over how websites track you. It also has features like Collections, which lets you organize the information you get across the web.

Microsoft Editor takes on Grammarly

Microsoft has its answer to Grammarly. The company recently introduced Microsoft Editor, its AI-powered writing assistant, which supports 20+ languages. It works as a browser add-on on both Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome. If you don't want to spend to use Microsoft Editor, there is a free version that offers basic features like checking spelling and basic grammar on Word, Outlook.com, and anywhere else on the web.

Now, if you have a Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscription, you are offered more advanced grammar and style refinement suggestions that help you with things like clarity, use of formal language, conciseness, and vocabulary suggestions, among other things. The add-on is already available on the said app stores, so if you want to give it a try, you can do that right now.

Microsoft Edge for iOS gets instant translations

Microsoft updated its Edge browser on iOS to add a useful feature. The v42.11.4 .build now offers instant translations of web pages that aren’t in your native language. The company uses its own Translator tech to bring this to life. Aside from this, you can add company account or educational institutions, access intranet sites securely, and view web pages in the PC timeline. There are the usual bug fixes and improvements thrown in as well.
