Microsoft adds more control to Surface Pro 3’s pen with Surface Hub

Find that you have too little control over the Surface Pro 3’s pen? Microsoft has just launched the Surface Hub app to allow you to customize the pen’s pressure sensitivity and its top button. And while it covers the basics, there are a bunch of features missing, too. There is no fine-grained sensitivity tuning yet (meaning those artists who want more detailed sketches can’t do that yet); it won’t launch the app you like; and the side buttons are off-limits. Of course, Microsoft is willing to work with you to remedy this. They said they would add features based on feedback so best let them know what you think so you can get more out of the pen.

Microsoft Surface Pro 3 update improves battery life

Microsoft has just released an update for its Surface Pro 3 tablet to expand the usability and stability of the device. In this first round of updates, the company claims it will improve the battery life of the tablet. It not just reduces power consumption but improves the system’s stability as well as reliability and efficiency even in low power states. It also lessened power consumption by wireless network controller and Bluetooth in low power states. The Type Cover firmware has also been updated to boost the trackpad’s reliability.

Microsoft releases Surface Pro 3 update ahead of official release

While Microsoft will officially release the Surface Pro 3 tomorrow, the tech company wants to make sure the hardware and software are both working fine. The device is receiving a bunch of performance updates as well as a fix for a power button issue that has been plaguing some devices. Microsoft seems to be so gung-ho about this new tablet that they even sent engineers to the home of Penny Arcade’s Mike Krahulik to take a look into the feedback he gave about the pen input of the device. We’re not sure Microsoft will head to your residence if you find any issues or have any suggestions about the Surface Pro 3 but we’re willing to bet they would be listening.
