Breaking: Massive and prolonged Internet outage affects Rogers customers

A widespread Rogers Internet and mobile service outage started  late Saturday afternoon as Twitter was flooded with reports from various cities in Southern Ontario, including Toronto, Waterloo and London. A Techcrunch report suggested that the outage may spread across the entire country. Rogers responded via its Twitter @RogersHelps account that the service failure was due to "wireline interruptions" and that updates are forthcoming.

Nokia Lumia 900 owners on Rogers will be getting a surprise tomorrow in the form of a software update to the flagship Windows Phone. This isn't the promised Windows Phone 7.8 update that will bring some system-wide enhancements to all Lumia smartphones but a general Lumia 900 software update. HP's Windows 8 tablets to feature unique technologies

HP is looking to get back in the tablet game in a big way. Its Windows 8 tablets, which should be available later this year.

"We will be very focused on the commercial tablet opportunity, which is completely under penetrated. And, we have some unique intellectual property that we're going to apply," HP's SVP of Americas sales for HP's printing and personal systems division, John Solomon told  VARS and technology integrator news website CRN.
