Huawei P20 Pro Twilight variant comes to Canada starting Sept. 6th

Twilight is coming. Nope, not the vampire movie. We’re talking about the iridescent, gradient colour of the Huawei P20 series. The Twilight version for the P20 Pro is coming to our shores starting September 6^th. It’ll be available through Bell, Rogers, TELUS, and SaskTel. Huawei was able to achieve this interesting shade by applying eight alternating layers of oxides and nitrates on the glass. They made use of five layers of colour coating, one diamond-like carbon layer, and two layers of anti-fingerprint coating. If you’ve been waiting to get your hands on this version, then your wait is almost over.

Rogers scheduled to rollout Android Oreo for BlackBerry KEYone owners starting June 28th

If we’re to rely on the latest operating system schedule posted on Rogers’s forums, we’re just days away from the carrier rolling out Android Oreo 8.0 to the BlackBerry KEYone. The carrier expects the OS to start rolling out on June 28^th. One other detail highlighted with the update is Wi-Fi calling, which we presume will be available for the device as well. With the last update Rogers rolled out was considered “Oreo prep,” it’s safe to assume that the carrier might stick to this timeline and KEYone owners are closer to getting the OS upgrade. Apple Watch Series 3 2ill have LTE connectivity which will be tied in to user's iPhone number. It will be able to stream music from Apple Music, it also comes with a barometer. Apple's Jeff Williams admitted that having LTE on the Apple Watch as a goal since day one, but the technology was not there.

As with most Apple Watch releases, Apple has also announced new straps including collaborations with Hermes and Nike. Series 1 Apple Watches will be available for US $249. Non cellular and cellular models of the Series 3 will be available for pre-order September 15 with a September 22 launch date.

It’s mid-2017 and there’s a BlackBerry smartphone that’s turning heads and making waves. The Android powered KEYone brings BlackBerrys bag of tricks to a new form factor, and possibly, a new generation of users.

With sterling build and materials, legendary security and encryption, as well as a surprisingly capable 12-megapixel camera, this is a messaging tool that merits notice.

Like many, I approached the news of the KEYOne with great skepticism. BlackBerry, after all, no longer makes smartphones. They’ve licensed the brand and intellectual property to other companies and TCL's track record with the uninspiring DTEK smartphones cast doubt they could offer anything compelling. Earlier models from this licensee, after all, were rebadged Alcatel smartphones. BlackBerry handsets seemed to be all but lost.
