Samsung Galaxy S10 Enterprise Edition launches in Spain

An Enterprise Edition of the Galaxy S10 has just surfaced in Spain, launching alongside the Galaxy S10e and S10. Not much is different from the regular versions of the phone, except these are designed to address the specific needs of the business segment. The focus is on after-sales support, timely security updates, and enterprise-deployment and management tools such as Knox Configure, Enterprise Firmware Over-The-Air service (E-FOTA on MDM), etc.

According to a translated statement from Samsung Spain’s Director David Alonso, “At Samsung we are aware of everything that companies need in a new era marked by mobility, where secure devices are increasingly demanded, but at the same time accessible from internal IT departments. The Enterprise Edition devices combine the latest advances in technology and the best performance for companies, which also want to enjoy ten years of innovation reflected in the new Galaxy S10.” There is no word on pricing yet but it shouldn’t stray too far from the regular models.

Samsung Galaxy S10 line gets Netflix HDR10 support

The Galaxy S10, S10+, and S10e join the Note8, Note9, and Galaxy S9 phones to support Netflix’s HDR10 content. This, however, is different from the HDR10+, which the phones support. HDR10+ has been co-developed Samsung. It is an extension of the other standard but offers dynamic range allocation on a frame by frame basis instead of having it fixed from the beginning of playback. This offers a better rendition of content that has both very bright and dark scenes. At the moment, you can only stream HDR10+ content from Amazon Prime Video.

Samsung lets users remap Bixby button on S10 and other Android Pie-powered phones

Dieter Bohn / The Verge

Samsung has finally conceded and is letting users remap the Bixby button to their third-party app of choice. There's now a built-in setting that will let you assign a third-party app to open either with a single or double press. Whatever option you don't choose will be given to Bixby. For example, if one press will open Spotify, then a double press will open Bixby. Now, holding down the button will trigger Bixby Voice, no matter what.

According to The Verge, Samsung will reportedly let owners of the S8, S9, and Note 8 and Note 9 with Android Pie and One UI customize the Bixby button as well.
