TSA reverses ban on the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Coke bottles

We reported earlier about the US’s Transportation Security Administration banning the “thermal detonator”-shaped bottles of Coke, Diet Coke, and Sprite made especially for the Star Wars: Galaxy’s End theme park. Now, the TSA reverses its decision, allowing travellers to take home these collectibles. The TSA claimed this could confuse TSA screeners at airport security checkpoints. As expected, the decision wasn’t met kindly on the internet. And now it seems the government agency is listening to the gripes and will treat these containers as “oversized liquid.” So, if you choose to bring it with the liquid in it, you need to put it in your checked bags. If it’s empty, you can carry it with you. But the TSA warns that “TSA officers will maintain the discretion to prohibit any item through the screening checkpoint if they believe it poses a security threat.”

TSA bans special edition Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Coke bottles

If you thought the special edition Coke, Diet Coke, and Sprite bottles from Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge theme park in Disneyland California are cool and you want to take them home, then make sure these aren't flying with you. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is banning these on flights, both in your luggage and as a carry-on. The bottles are shaped as a thermal detonator and the TSA says, "Replica and inert explosives aren't allowed in either carry-on or checked bags." Now, if you really want to keep them, then it's better to post them separately. Drink the contents if you want to keep shipping costs down.
