Flickr iOS app gets update with new filters, camera tools; plus pro tools become free

Whether it can be considered keeping up with the mobile photography trends or just catching up, Yahoo! updates its Flickr photo app for iOS devices with new filters and camera tools as well as giving non-pro users access to tools that used to be exclusive to paid accounts.

Aside from adding new filters, Flickr also offers what is called “live” filters that you can use as you take photos and create custom filters with the app. The new camera tools include pinch to zoon, grids, focus lock, and better way to manage exposure points. And the premium features that are now free include photo enhancing, sharpening, cropping, adjusting color and use levels, and vignettes. No word yet if these features are going to be available on their Android app.

Digg for Android is here!

Looks like the team behind Digg are no longer going to be called “lazy idiots” with the official arrival of the Digg app for Android. It allows you to log into Digg Reader; go through Digg’s Top Stories; and Digg, save, and share any story. However, you can’t comment on stories.

A few missing features—such as “Show Only Unread Items;” view, text size, and display mode options; and background updating—are said to be making its appearance soon.
