This is the Samsung Galaxy S (also known as the Vibrant, Captivate and Epic4G in other markets). Once it launches in July it will be the largest-screened smartphone and Android (OS 2.1) device on the Canadian market. Specs and exclusive video after the jump.

Canadianreviewer.com was given an opportunity to see and demo the Samsung Galaxy S a few weeks ago. Paul Brannen, Samsung's VP for the mobile communication division walked us through the device's key features while Vlastimir Lalovic, director of realization for wireless terminals showed us the device's overall functionality. The super-AMOLED screen on this device at the 4-inch size is stunning and manages to scale the Android OS and all its icons in a vast and easy to read expanse. Up close, we can attest that this is the most gorgeous and lavish screen we've seen on any smartphone to date.

You also have the ability to connect wirelessly to other Samsung appliances like printers, TVs and monitors. Pricing and availability details have not yet been released but those thinking of getting a new smartphone or an Android device should definitely check this smartphone out.

Its functionality, upgradeable OS and sleek form factor are definitely a cut above what we have seen so far. Media-centric users who use their smartphones to surf the web, socialize and watch videos will really benefit from the device's screen. It is suitably thin and lightweight although it is made up from a patterned glossy plastic which tends to soak up smudges and fingerprints. We actually preferred the metal finish on the Samsung Wave phone which seemed to have gotten a higher-end treatment overall.

We're hoping to be able to test the unit upon release and see how the Samsung TouchWiz add-on works with Android 2.1 as well as how battery life and call-quality and reception plays out.
