Samsung may yet allow ICS updates on Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab

After last week's news that the Samsung Galaxy S and the original 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab would not be getting the Android 4.0 'Ice Cream Sandwich' update because third party apps from carriers and also Samsung's own TouchWiz overlay take up too much memory to run alongside ICS. It seems that Samsung is seeing the wisdom of enabling the upgrade on the more than 10 million Samsung Galaxy S and the early tabs. While no official announcement has been made, It seems that Samsung is listening to the disgruntled users and may remedy the situation due to "strong customer demand."

The Korean news site ajnews quotes an industry official as saying that the company is currently reviewing whether the Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab can support Android. We are keeping our fingers crossed that owners of these earlier devices can partake of the Ice Cream Sandwich buffet,
