Support the Red Cross relief efforts in Japan or keep in touch? There's an app for that.

"Stay in Touch" - a collection of apps focused on communication has been introduced on iTunes to help people connect with those in Japan.

Launching globally today on ITunes,  the selection available on the App Store will vary by region but the principal is the same: to help people stay in touch. Japan's iTunes store was the first to offer the  collection over the past weekend given Friday's devastating events.

You may have also noticed that iTunes has also set up a way for users to make donations to the Red Cross.  There is an image on the main landing page on iTunes.ca which you can click through to make your donation.

Or, somebody could go directly to the following page: https://buy.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/buyCharityGiftWizard
