Sony backs up James Bond with Skyfall Xperia
Sony announced the Xperia T – the Bond phone, which brings Sony’s best HD experiences, easy connectivity with ‘One-Touch’ sharing enabled by NFC (Near Field Communications) and Sony’s award-winning arc design, will launch in Canada with multiple carriers including Bell, Mobilicity, MTS, Rogers and Videotron this November.
Featured in the upcoming James Bond theatrical release Skyfall, Xperia T will be used in the film by 007 himself. As the official Bond phone, it will come preloaded with exclusive Bond content including behind the scenes footage, interviews, clips, wallpapers, ring tones, and more.
“Entertainment is in our DNA and the Xperia T is the latest example,” said Peter Farmer, Vice President of Marketing for North America, Sony Mobile Communications. “Offering stylish design, easy connectivity and access to premium entertainment anywhere, anytime, the Bond phone will soon be available to Canadians.”
Photo enthusiasts will delight in the impressive images taken with Xperia T’s 13-megapixel primary camera that brings even the smallest of details to life. This high resolution camera captures quality images swiftly with its quick launch feature, going from sleep to snap in just over 1 second, ensuring life’s unexpected moments are not missed. Plus, both the rear and front-facing cameras deliver HD recording capabilities for vivid video capture on the go.
Best of Sony’s technology and design
Xperia T gives consumers the ultimate in HD with a superb 4.6-inch HD display (1280 x 720), powered by the Mobile BRAVIA® Engine for razor-sharp clarity and brilliance. Building on the same design language first introduced by the Xperia arc, the viewing experience on Xperia T is accentuated by a stylish, slim form factor that emphasizes the display. For those looking to take their content from their smartphone to the TV screen, Xperia T connects through MHL or wirelessly through DLNA so you can experience HD content on any screen, at any time.
To make enjoying content across devices even easier, Xperia T supports ‘One-touch’ connectivity through NFC. Now, users can conveniently and instantaneously enjoy music and photos across an array of NFC-enabled devices by simply touching one to another to establish a wireless connection without a cumbersome pairing process.
More entertainment with Sony media applications
Xperia T includes three preloaded Sony media applications, Walkman, Movies, and Album, introducing a consistent user interface across Sony devices. Album will be especially appealing to photo takers with features such as geo-mapping in satellite and traditional map views, more than 25 editing options and improved layout of photo and video folders, both in device and online.
As an added benefit, simply sign-up or access Box* from your Xperia T to grab 50GB of file storage from the cloud – free, for life!
