Sony is releasing a duo of Android smartphones on November 14. The first is the Sony Xperia T also know as the Bond Phone because it is used by 007 during the movie Skyfall. With an elegant and dangerous curved black aluminum case,  a 4.6-inch 1280 x 720 display, a 13 megapixel camera, a new dual-core 1.5Ghz Snapdragon processor, NFC (Near Field Communications) and various James Bond inspired bits of content from the movie.

I had the chance to attend a briefing by Sony earlier and it seems that they're really stoked about this particular smartphone, not just because of the hardware which is light yet feels reassuringly solid, but because of the experiences that the device offers.

The Xperia T is the first Sony smartphone that is available to customers on carriers other than Rogers. It will come to Bell, Mobilicity, MTS and Videotron so it is a fairly big product launch for the post-Ericsson Sony.

The Xperia T can be used in tandem with a video dock to push content to an HDTV (preferably a Sony one), it also has a quick trigger camera function and a dedicated button that brings up the camera quickly without having to dig into the menu.

Sony is also pushing a lot of its NFC technology via SmartTags that can be attached to various accessories or even trigger settings for the device once it is swiped.

The other bit of Sony smartphone news was the Xperia Go which is a thin yet rugged Android smartphone that is water resistant. Featuring a dual-core processor, a 5 megapixel camera, the ability to shoot video at 720p HD, a 3.5-inch screen and the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS it is Sony's midrange Android device.

The Xperia Go will be sold unlocked at Sony Stores nationwide and will also be available from selected providers like Fido.

Pricing and availability will be determined by the carriers on November 14th.
