Montreal's Tag Taxi app orders cabs in the GTA
Another taxi hailing app comes to Canada. TAG taxi, the free iPhone and Android application that lets you order a taxi in a simple, personalized way debuted today with 300 cabs in the Greater Toronto Area. Hit jump for more details.
At a time when urban commuting is becoming an issue, TAG (Taxi Assigned by Geolocation) offers citizens the ability to get from place to place with ease, and the taxi industry a way to modernize its client-relations. Thanks to agreements with several taxi companies, TAG Taxi is now expanding its network to Toronto’s surrounding cities, namely Mississauga, Vaughan, Pickering, Ajax and, coming soon to Richmond Hill and Markham.
TAG taxi , the industry-friendly application in Canada
TAG taxi’s business model relies on developing partnerships with members of the taxi industry. “We offer taxi companies a new way to reach their clients,” explains Patrick Gagné, president of TAG taxi™. “Our intuitive application is plugged into their dispatch system, which sends orders to drivers. Our goal: optimizing the taxi experience and putting users back at the centre of it.
TAG taxi simplifies the taxi ordering process and offers clients the chance to voice their opinions. If a user sees room for improvement, or simply wants to commend the driver, there is now an easy mechanism. With just a few taps of the smartphone screen, a taxi can be ordered to specification - including the desired method of payment, vehicle size, transport of oversized luggage or pets. At the conclusion of the ride, the application asks the passenger to rate the quality of the ride (the driving, driver’s courtesy and the cleanliness of the car), so that the insights can be shared with the provider to ensure an exceptional experience.
With TAG taxi, hailing a cab is civilized and simplified.
Astro, A-Black-Cab, Rapid Taxi and Advance-Unique, TAG taxi’s first partners in the GTA
“With TAG taxi™, the relationship with our clients is easier,” says Paul Batthal, president of Astro, in Vaughan. “At all times, an Astro Taxi is within their reach.”
“A-Black-Cab linked with TAG taxi™ to adapt its services to mobile technology and reinforce the work of its drivers,” announces Arun Shinh general manager of A-Black-Cab in Mississauga.
“Rapid Taxi remains aware of its clients’ needs,” specifies Ravi Bhardwaj, general managers of Rapid Taxi in Ajax and Pickering. “A partnership with TAG taxi was obvious! This agreement will help us improve our services and maximize our taxis rides.”
“We are currently adding data equipment to our fleet, so we are happy to announce that as soon as we establish our connection, we will offer the TAG taxi experience to our clients in Richmond Hill and Markham,” says Elias Chami, president of Advance-Unique Taxi Services.
The TAG taxi network gets bigger
With Taxi Diamond’s 1100 cars in Montreal, Coop Mauricie’s 70 cars in Trois-Rivières and nearly 300 cars in the Greater Toronto area, the TAG taxi network now counts over 1400 cars. Discussions are underway with other industry partners in the City of Toronto and in other North American locations. To learn more, visit tag-taxi.com and download the application.
