YouTube rumoured to launch Spotify-like music service

Billboard has revealed that YouTube is supposedly set to launch a subscription-based music service before the year’s end. It is said to have “mobile listening in mind” with two tiers of usage: free with ads or $10 monthly fee for premium version without ads and offline listening capabilities. The streaming video site has yet to confirm the imminent debut of this service but we’ll keep you posted if there are any updates.

If YouTube wants to be a different music stream site/app, they should let users customize their playlists. I do use youtube to check out music recommended by friends or to see the hype.
