Nokia's Lumia 520 now available in Canada on Rogers, Koodo and TELUS

Nokia Canada today announced that the Nokia Lumia 520 will be available to Canadians across three carriers, including Rogers, Koodo and TELUS. This innovative and affordable smartphone offers free navigation and exclusive digital lenses, features normally found in high-end smartphones in a 4-inch device. The Nokia Lumia 520 is available today at Rogers (please visit rogers.com for full pricing details). The device is also available at Koodo on May 9th in black for $150 or $0 on the tab. On May 17th, it will be available at TELUS in black for $149 with a TELUS pre-paid plan.

The Nokia Lumia 520's 5-megapixel autofocus camera uses the same digital camera lenses as those on the flagship Nokia Lumia 920. The Cinemagraph lens adds simple animations to still photographs, while Smart Shoot creates a single, perfect shot from multiple images, even removing unwanted objects from the picture. The Panorama lens provides an easy way to capture super-wide-angled photos of any beautiful scene.

It packs a punch with the 1 GHz dual-core SnapDragon S4 processor, making it possible to share photos and any other content at very-fast speeds. There is also plenty of room to store photos, with 8GB internal memory - double most smartphones in this price range - and support for micro SD cards up to 64GB. What's more, the sensitive 4-inch touchscreen allows you to use the phone even with gloves on or with your fingernails.

"By offering better experiences at a more affordable price, the Nokia Lumia 520 is a perfect phone for Canadians wanting a taste of some of that high-end innovation that Nokia is known for without the high price tag," said Matt Rothschild, Vice President, Nokia North America.

The smartphone also provides free access to the world's best maps and location experiences, including HERE Maps, HERE Drive and HERE Transport. These applications offer extensive mapping services such as search, satellite, journey planner for public transit, downloadable maps for offline use, and more.
