Apple acquires Toronto-based Locationary

In a move to bolster it's location services across devices, Apple has reportedly purchased Toronto-based location data and crowdsourcing startup Locationary. Locationary uses a large data exchange platform and crowdsourcing to constantly gather, merge and verify data and geographic points for local businesses. It will be interesting to see how these services will enrich the iOS and Mac mapping experience moving forward.
